Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day – January 2013

January 16, 2013

After a couple of weeks of relatively warm temperatures, the violas are blooming rather a lot. Most of them are in places that are hard to get a picture of, though.

Viola cornuta

The rest of my flowers are all in the kitchen – can you spot them all?

Cyperus, Jasminum, Phalaenopsis

I’ve blogged about all of them in the last couple of days:

About the Cyperus:

Cyperus alternifolius

About the Phalaenopsis:

Phalaenopsis Cv

And the jasmine:

Jasminum polyanthum

And because the jasmine is the most noticeable – due to the number of flowers and the scent – it deserves to get another picture posted. Especially as my camera has been so astonishingly well-behaved, and taken an in-focus picture of a small, white flower (which is  usually the thing my camera hates most.)

Great shot of the jasmine! I think I’m going to add that to my plant shopping list. Happy Garden Bloggers Bloom Day to you!

It’s a lovely plant, just a bit tricky to get to rebloom when grown as a houseplant.

There’s nothing in the horticulture world to rival finding new buds when you’ve waited forever. Is that rhipsalis growing in with the orchids?

The last jasmine picture is really nice! I’m so jealous
