Garden Blogger’s Bloom Day – March 2010

March 15, 2010

The horned pansies and the daffodils on the balcony have survived last week’s freezing temperatures:

Viola cornuta, Primula vulgaris, Narcissus

The primroses, sadly, did not (I’m planning to replace them some time this week).

There are more ‘Tete-a-tete’ daffodils in the living room, belonging to the Clown Brother:

Narcissus

The tulips and iris were also his idea, but bought by me:

Tulipa Cv., Iris danfordiae, Iris reticulata

Aren’t those tulips cool?

Tulipa Cv.

And the iris – I absolutely love them. How I wish I had a garden to plant them in for next year. As it is, they’ll be used for some more Guerilla Gardening in the autumn.

Iris danfordiae

Iris reticulata

My mother’s Phalaenopsis is blooming and blooming and blooming…

Phalaenopsis Cv.

So is my Easter Cactus (Rhipsalidopsis):

Rhipsalidopsis

This brilliantly yellow primrose was, in fact, only around until yesterday:

Primula vulgaris

It was a gift for a former classmate that I met again after… what? Eight years? Nine? How can time pass so quickly?

Wow, I hope those irises are as gorgeous in person as they are in pictures! And those tulips ARE really cool!
