Beginnings of the Balcony Garden

March 27, 2011

I planted my first vegetables yesterday. A dozen of purple and (supposedly) orange cauliflower plants that I bought in a fit of ‘oooh shiny!’ (or rather, ‘oooh colourful!’) – I don’t need a dozen, of course (in fact, I had to buy extra planters), but the garden centres don’t sell smaller packs. Also, some red spring onions and ‘Blauwschokker’ peas, both also bought because ‘oooh colourful!’

Cauliflower, Scilla, some kind of species tulip, 'Ruby Giant' crocus, and two rows of pea seeds

the viola-and-lettuce bowl I posted about before, more cauliflower, spring onion seeds, Chionodoxa (Glory of the Snow) and a few other species tulips. Oh, and some laundry I need to put away.

Fingers crossed now for good weather and a good harvest!
