They’re Really Doing Something!

July 7, 2011

My Amorphophallus baby, now about ten times bigger than the last time I posted about it – and it looks like the leaf is beginning to unfold!

And my little Tetrastigma voinierianum is growing, too! It’s occasionally grown a leaf in the one and a half years or so I’ve had it, but then I let it dry out again, and it dropped its growing tips, so it’s still pretty tiny. But now I’m making an effort to water it more, and feed it, too and now it’s doing this:

The rest of the plant is hidden behind about three rows of other plants, which I couldn’t be bothered to move. It’s not very impressive anyway.

Being hidden behind so many other plants makes the whole watering thing a little more difficult, of course, but at least it’s getting good light as well – right up against the living room window, facing south but protected from direct sun. Looks like it likes it there!
