That’s Just Not Fair!

June 12, 2012

I was planning to throw out my Cissus rhombifolia, because I was fed up with it constantly having powdery mildew, and replace it with the Ampelopsis. Hah. Guess who’s got powdery mildew now?!

It is a very mildewy year – the violas got the death sentence because of it, even though they were still blooming nicely, the peas have it, the sage, the lemon balm, the roses and Streptocarpus at work, and probably lots of other plants  that I’m forgetting right now. So I wasn’t really surprised to see the Cissus looking as bad as it does. But – et tu, Ampelopsis?

Well. I’ll try to remember to pick horsetail on the way home today and make an infusion to spray with. It doesn’t always help, but sometimes it does, and at least it’ll be organic and won’t cost a cent.

One of the more popular “household remedies” for fungal diseases around here.
