(Belated) Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day – July, 2013

July 16, 2013

Late this month, for the same reason as Harvest Monday.

Have I ever showed off my newest passion flower? It’s awesome, isn’t it?

There are more flowers on the balcony, but the pictures are crappy, so let’s move indoors. While watering the evening before I left, I found this:

And then I came home and thought I smelled something, and when I went looking, I found this:

I’m not entirely sure if my houseplants are trying to comfort me because of the crappy things that have happened (terrible diagnosis for a friend, stolen bike, fight with my aunt and now a broken washing machine, isn’t that fun?) or if they are celebrating that I got to meet my favourite author.

The Passiflora is celebrating, the Hoya is consoling. The Aechmea was just bored; the Nasturtium felt obligated; and the Dianthus didn’t even know anything was going on; it was just being nice ’cause that’s how they roll.

I mean Tropaeolum, of course, not nasturtium.

Also it’s possible that the Aechmea was trying to be passive-aggressive in some fashion. I don’t think they actually understand how being passive-aggressive works, is the thing.

        Thanks for making me laugh!
I have had a lot of good laughs lately, but at a time like this, I can always use more.
