Harvest Monday – June 15, 2015
June 15, 2015
Still in a hurry, so as with the GBBD post, this will be pictures and no words…
Well, okay, a few words: I found a tiny little wild cherry tree behind some garbage bins on the way to the community garden, and like the greedy person that I am, harvested every single cherry on it.
And a few more words: Forellenschluss lettuce is just so pretty!

What a nice find. Here we have mulberries dropping fruit everywhere. Cherries are better.
Mulberries are quite rare here – I’ve only seen/eaten them two times in my life so far.
Your lettuce and snow peas and cucumber look wonderful.
They planted little crab apple trees all around our Home Depot store. Oh how I wish they were cherries.
God, yes, crab apples and ornamental cherries, why can’t they plant real fruit trees instead? (Though my town is actually doing that, but they’re still too young to bear fruit.)
Those are some gorgeous cherries! I can’t believe you harvested them from an abandoned tree – the birds around here would have been at it in no time.
It’s not abandoned, I think it grew from a seed dropped behind the garbage bins. I was also surprised the birds hadn’t been at them, though!
